Pumped at Petzl

Earlier this season, with IFSC World Cup events looming-along with other big climbing competitions-the USA Climbing team was in need of a secluded facility for training. In need of a tall indoor wall where they could strip off all the holds and set a bunch of hard competition-style routes, they called Petzl. Within a few days, the best climbers in the US were walking into the Petzl America buil...

Make a left handed gri gri for god’s sake
Yea, just take a crucial safety device and make a version which works the opposite as the standard one! Lol you must be freaking mad.
@@Sledr1994 yes oh my goodness. We can’t make two different kinds .That’s crazy 😱😱😱😱😱. I mean , just make everyone use their non dominant hand for a “crucial safety device “. How bout this? Make them all left handed and then you adapt?
Could I use regular batteries instead?
Just bought one - no red light. Seriously?
Does the focused/spot beam work with Reactiv lighting? Mine does not
That hair do is a no no
Why the choice of twist carabiner in long arm and screw carabiner in short one?
I assume this is for rappelling. According to this video twist lock carabiners are not recommended when rappelling because they have the possibility of being unlocked by the rope: ua-cam.com/video/6Xb0ajjlTis/v-deo.htmlsi=50_oZcWbdfsGXAnA&t=404 Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Why does no manufacturer ever listen to it's consumers? We do not want to switch THROUGH colours, we want to be able to choose red or white.
Any plans to make a winter liner for the meteor?
Nice bulge bro
audio works only on the left side
So absolutely love this lamp, my only pain is the charging port. You need to upgrade to USB-C
they need to update it it's got a USB micro that needs to be USB-C type-c
Why would anyone prefer the SAMA when it appears you can get the same thing with the ADJAMA with the addition of adjustable leg loops? The SAMA must have been manufactured without adjustable leg loops for a reason. My other issue with SAMA is that I own one, and its waist belt comes loose. The mechanism for securing it could be improved.
Fixed leg loops are less fussy. No need to worry about buckles flipping open or snagging on the rock while climbing. Downside is they don't fit everyone. I have 3 harnesses and all are fixed leg loops.
Im sure its bomber but I do like to double up whatever anchor I make.
you can place a bit of tape on the sensor so it can ligt 900 lumen all time.
I wonder why they didn't just have that lock on any operation of the headlamp that is its current function: so one can lock it in any mode it's on. So simple.

Are they all Dynamic string?
Are they all Dynamic string?
All three are made with 9.5mm dynamic climbing rope
just got mine. its awesome, so clean
Sensor should ve removed for changing lumens.. could create problem in extreme temperatures..just press buttons.
Can the dual connect vario be used for similar purposes as a typical sling-derived anchor? Top-roping, installing a fixed line, e.t.c? Or is it only certified for use as a belay station?
Can you charge it while running and powering from power bank in pack ?
Yes
I don't think so, as the battery module was removed out of headlamp to charge @@-zerocool-
First of. This is a great headlamp. But this reactive bs is near useless. If i set up the lamp to not use reactive setting of course I want the same settings the next time I start the lamp. Also button combos are far from intuitive. Try to figure out how to deactivate lock mode whitout a manual... lol. Petzl made a fantastic headlamp and then they made it annoying. Please make a software update that don't favor reactive mode! Kiss. (Keep it simple stupied)
No way are you getting 900 lumens out of it in either mode. Very clever marketing!!
Felix have 1000+ lumens lol😂😂😂 but it becomes so hot.. when touched.
My mistake its Fenix...😂😂😂 1300 lumenss😂😂😂 got one. Fenix hm60r model
La lampe peut s'allumer dans votre sac et vous n'avez plus de batterie pour votre bivouac. Les réglages de serre tête sont en plastique de mauvaise qualité: ils cassent. Je déconseille cette lampe.
0:15 if you plan to organize more of those event, I strongly advice to by few overshoe safety guards/toe cap, it's easy to loan for participant!
Does anyone pair the dual adjust with two twist locks? Is the one screw lock a much better set up?
I assume the screw lock is for rappelling.
Why dis lapm dont have red light?
this, is a great thing..
Using just one adjustable cord is amazing.... you can put it on almost anything...your arm, your neck, your leg, a stick, your bike. When the lamp is turned 180 degree you can make a torchlike thing using a waterbottle. Very usable multi lamp.
so how do you turn the fuckin red light off??????????????? complicated product
I use the light for night running where part of the run is in well lit area and then it goes to wooded area which is often muddy as it rains a lot in winters when the days are short . I feel like reactive lighting is meant for runs like mine as it works perfectly in sync with the surrounding light .
Why don't more people use one? It's makes belaying easier, and it's safer.
Would these be safe to wrap around a tree? Meaning, using only one of these to connect from the arness, around a tree, and back to the arness?
The design of the battery compartment and the clarity of the instructional pamphlet could certainly benefit from a thorough revision. I found myself resorting to a UA-cam search for guidance, which unfortunately remained somewhat vague. Ideally, the operation of such a basic feature should be intuitive, requiring no additional instructions.
Instructions suck and this video sucks too in the way of describing the very first step of this lantern use: opening the battery slot

micro usb ew
Can i use this headlamp in heavy rain?
Can I charge it "on the go"? Can't find this information anywhere
You can definitely charge it using a mobile battery pack.
Hi, could I use the Dual Connect Adjust to belay as a station? If yes, do you have any video links you can share to further demonstrate? I do have the quick adjust but not sure if this can also be used at a belay station for belaying. I appreciate the feed back. Great products overall.
Only the DUAL CONNECT VARIO is approved for using as an equalized belay station.
I recently switched to the new quarks from the previous generation and almost everything about them is worse. The grip flops around in my hand because of the flatness. The pommel rest is also flatter. I actually wrapped them in both in tape and they still don’t swing as good as the old. The folding part of the pommel is a bad idea, my first day out and they froze shut, I had to breath on them to open but the button was jammed and wouldn’t lock. Kinda dangerous
Well , I think this is an honest review, because everyone is saying this is the go-to tool go get, even me as a beginner I thought ok this is it for walking climbing all rounder … Idk I must do more research.

Which symbol is top rope and which is lead rope?
The top rope symbol is the one that shows the rope going away from the climber to a point above them and then back down.
What different with adjama,? Like same as
You need to wear both and сheck which one more comfortable for you. Yesteday I have came to a shop to buy ajama, when I have weared it on and pull belay loop with a finger I got bad feeling on my back and also it squeezed my balls. Next I've checked corax and it fits perfectly on my body and I wondered that it costs almost twice lower but fits better on me. Also with corax I felt no any balls pain when I pulled belay loop LOL
Climbers should use another model. This is not a hybrid model for batteries. So if on a long climb, you need a recharge, you’re out of luck. Also no red light, which was an instant deal-killer. No reactive lighting system can compete with a red light in your tent.
Soooo complicated! Been fiddling with it for an hour. So non intuitive and still can’t get red light to switch to white easily. Some proper instructions from Petzl would help…
The tech notice paper that comes in the packaging shows that certain quick presses or long presses on the button will help you switch between brightness modes and go from white to red and back.
Send me one please Petzl? Would love to try it out & compare to my original GriGri.
what would be the difference between the dual connect adjust and the dual canyon guide? they seem virtually identical. I bought the dual connect adjust and was recomended not to use it with the canyon guide harness throught the ventral attachment point, but the dual canyon guide yes.
The DUAL CANYON GUIDE lanyard and the CANYON GUIDE harness were made to nest perfectly together using a specific attachment point, leaving the metal ventral point free for other uses and attachments. Girth hitching the DUAL CONNECT ADJUST lanyard to the ventral point is also a valid option, although it quickly clusters up the ventral point leaving little room for your rappel system and/or suspending a pack during tight squeezes.
THANK YOU! Mine just stopped working, taking battery out & replacing fixed it!
